Abstract

A binocular stereoscopic x-ray imaging technique basedon a theory specifically developed for a single x-ray source anda pair of folded linear dual-energy x-ray detector arrays ispresented. The theoretical analysis is discussed in terms of anideal x-ray source and x-ray detectors, and has formed the basisfor the development of an experimental system. The resultantimages may be used for both visual inspection and for theextraction of three-dimensional coordinate information.
