Abstract

Stereoscopic images have been widely studied in recent years from a technical point of view, but the related quality assessment does not follow this enthusiasm. An objective quality assessment with visual attention for stereoscopic images is proposed, visual attention is an important attribute of the human visual system (HVS). The disparity map for stereoscopic image pairs is an important indicator of stereoscopic image quality assessment. This paper proposes a method to extract a saliency map from disparity map, and integrates saliency factors into stereoscopic image quality metrics. The experimental results show that the proposed method could accurate and objective evaluation of stereoscopic images quality.
