Abstract

Objects in distributed interactive simulation systems are unpredictable, i.e., are controlled by their local operators, and are remote, i.e., must rely on some transmission media to visualize dynamic scene from their local perspectives. The paper reports on the ongoing project aimed at a methodology for developing distributed interactive simulation systems for real and simulated objects in a 3D dynamic scene, based on a generic model of a material point, operational characteristics of participating objects, and their trajectories. Suitability of the proposed methodology is briefly discussed using the example of a High Level Architecture (HLA) standard.
