Abstract
Step frequency ground penetrating radar (GPR) was used in this study to test novel subsurface highway infrastructure evaluation methods. Test hardware included an antenna array that was used to collect full depth three dimensional pavement data at highway speeds and detailed tomographic imaging data from concrete bridge decks and other facilities at slower speeds. Step frequency GPR technology was also considered for system integration on a multi sensor vehicle platform.
