Abstract
The aim of the study was to analyze the literature on stenting of the main pancreatic duct in order to prevent the development of acute post-manipulation pancreatitis in patients with benign diseases of the bilio-pancreatoduodenal area. Stenting of the main pancreatic duct is applied in treatment of ductal strictures and choledocholithiasis, pseudocysts drainage, duct injuries, dysfunction and stenosis of the sphincter of the major duodenum papilla. The results of the literature analysis show that completion of endoscopic operations on the papilla Vater with stenting of the main pancreatic duct is an effective preventive measure of complications, allowing achieving good results in the treatment of patients with benign diseases of the pancreatoduodenal area.
