Abstract

The steady-state oxygen permeation through was measured as a function of oxygen activity gradient, membrane thickness (0.37–2.62 mm), and temperature . The self-diffusion coefficient of oxygen and the surface-exchange coefficient were extracted from flux data based on a simple transport model using average bulk transport parameters. The activation energies of and are 65 and 100 kJ/mol, respectively, and agree well with literature secondary-ion mass spectrometry data obtained at lower temperatures. The oxygen transport through the membrane was also simulated through a numerical analysis, with results comparable to those derived from the simple transport model.
