Abstract

A procedure for the numerical solution of the steady state Boltzmann equation in one configuration space and two velocity space dimensions is described. The diffusive character of the Fokker-Planck collision terms is utilized to construct a numerical relaxation scheme. The mathematical problem and numerical algorithm are discussed, and the present state of computational development is indicated. Details of existing computer code and results of computations are presented.
