Abstract
Investigation of stress distribution in moderately thick, linear, steadily creeping plate loaded only by edge tractions, symmetrical about plate midplane, and having viscosity coefficient vary ing in plane of plate; 3 dimensional problem is reduced to infinite number of uncoupled, successive, 2 dimensional problems; solution of problem defines edge traction variation through plate thickness; examples of method.
