Abstract

Migration from Eastern Europe to the UK has recently attracted a considerable amount of academic attention, particularly, although not exclusively, focused upon movements from the European Union accession countries after 2004. The aim of this article is to review some of the key academic works which have appeared over the past five years relating primarily to EU accession migration, identifying the main themes – migration motivations and strategies, work, social networks, local settlement – and some of the key research findings which have emerged.
