Abstract
Case Scenario: Rose is working as a staff nurse in the operating theatre of Roger Park Hospital when there is an explosion. She is severely burnt. Following an inspection by the Health and Safety Inspectorate, the Roger Park NHS Trust is informed that it will be prosecuted. It appears that the cause of the explosions was the result of gases igniting because of an electrical fault in a patient monitor.
