Abstract

The spread of infectious diseases has been and poses a serious threat to the health of the entire population. The world is currently struggling with a SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection pandemic. The problem also concerns Poland and results in new legal regulations being issued. The law defines instruments for preventing and combating infectious diseases and infections. Every doctor has legal obligations related to infectious diseases. They are determined primarily by the Act of 5 December 2008 on preventing and combating infections and infectious diseases in humans. The purpose of the article is to present legal norms regarding the physician's duties in the field of preventing and combating infectious diseases. In addition, doctors closer knowledge of new legal regulations related to the SARS-coronavirus CoV-2.The analysis shows that doctors play an important role in implementing legal instruments for the prevention of infectious diseases. Various forms of medical coercion may be used to prevent infectious diseases.
