Abstract

At the J-PARC Muon Science Facility (MUSE), the MuSEUM † collaboration is aiming at an improved measurement of the ground state hyperfine structure (HFS) of muonium [ 1 ]. High precision measurement of muonium HFS is the most sensitive tool for testing QED theory and measuring fundamental constants of the muon magnetic moment and mass, which are currently determined by the previous experiment at LAMPF [ 2 ]. An overview of the different aspects of this new muonium HFS measurement, and the current status of the preparation are presented
