Abstract

Together with K2K in Japan, MINOS (Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search) and the CNGS (CERN Neutrinos to Gran Sasso) program represents the first generation of accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. I report on the status of MINOS and CNGS — their goals, construction status, and prospects. In particular, construction and commissioning of the MINOS Far Detector is far along, and detector performance is being studied with cosmic ray data. Finally, I summarize ideas for the next generation of experiments currently being considered in Europe and North America.
