Abstract
In order to achieve the design luminosity in the NICA collider, it is planned to equip it with both stochastic and electron cooling. The electron-cooling system (ECS) for 2.5 MeV consists of two coolers which cool both ion beams simultaneously. The Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (BINP SB RAS) already built and commissioned an electron cooling system for the NICA booster, and now the high-voltage ECS for the collider is being developed. This paper describes the basic elements of the system and the status of the cooler development.
