Abstract

Hydatid disease, a chronic and life-threatening disease caused by the infection with larvar stage of tape worm, brings about a significant public health problem and socioeconomic concern in many countries and regions. Larvar cysts develop in the visceral tissues, and are commonly found in the lung in addition to the liver. At present, the diagnosis of pulmonary hydatid disease mainly relies on the imaging and laboratory methods, and surgery constitutes the main treatment method, with drug therapy and immune prevention as the auxiliary treatment.
