Abstract

KamLAND-Zen is an experiment searching for a neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ-decay) using 136Xe. We started the KamLAND-Zen800 phase in 2019 and are aiming to the 0νββ-decay search in the inverted mass hierarchy. Xenon spallation products, that is a newly considered background, become one of the dominant backgrounds in Zen800 as a result of background reduction efforts. A parameter Effective Number of Neutrons is introduced to tag the xenon spallation background. Now we are able to measure a production rate of them. In this proceedings, the status of 0νββ-decay search in KamLAND-Zen800 and the method to measure the xenon spallation products are described.
