Abstract

The paper reports the results of a reseach conducted to identify the collection of e-resources in the Library of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero. Attempts were made to identify the Internet facilities, users’ awareness of the e-resources, Online Information Sources subscribed to by the University Libra,ry and the barriers to usage of e-resources by the users. Two separate questionnaires were used to gather data. 200 registered library users; 65 academic staff and 135 Students were selected using the stratified random sampling technique to ascertain the extent at which the users are aware of the availability of e-resources in the University Library. The University Library under study had sufficient number of Internet nodes, 160mbps bandwidth, a dedicated internet connection using Fiber Optic. The study concluded that, there is acute need on the part of the university library to take steps to organize extensive public awareness campaign among the entire academic community with a view to ensuring maximum utilization of the available e-resources.
