Abstract

This Rapid Communication is about a procedure for the statistical uncertainty estimation of velocity structure functions measured in turbulent flows. The proposed method is based on the determination of the number of statistically independent samples calculated by the correlation function of the velocity increments and it is applied to experimental data obtained by hot wire measurements in a turbulent jet flow.
