Abstract

In this paper, we consider the problem of estimating of the probability P[X > Y] (or measure of product (or system) performance) for the quality characteristics of two products X and Y from the exponentiated Weibull distribution, independent of each other and based on the lower record values. Moreover, by using the two stage method including the least squares method and maximum likelihood method to construct hypothesis testing procedures for P[X > Y] in order to assess the quality performance of product and compare the superiority-inferiority of two products. Finally, two examples are utilized to illustrate the use of the testing procedure.
