Abstract

An optimal algorithm for detecting celestial objects (COs) is synthesized via the theory of statistical solutions and used in solving problems of passive optical ranging. The algorithm is capable of processing CO parameters. The functional scheme used to implement the algorithm for processing signals in a wide-angle optical system with a matrix receiver is discussed. Detection characteristics have been analyzed. Expressions for transmission capacity of the optical system using the algorithm have been derived.
