Abstract

Despite the absence of a single unified theory of gas discharge, it is possible to describe the kinetics of particle interaction in a low-temperature plasma by statistical simulation using the Monte-Carlo method. This present study considers the interactions between atoms, molecules, and radicals in a gas discharge in a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen. Certain principles are clarified governing the behavior of unstable short-lived particles and their role in molecular-compound formation, which cannot be obtained by other methods.
