Abstract
Abstract A secondary recovery model has been developed to predict waterflood performance for different reservoir properties and design conditions. A causal model based on simple and multiple regression equations uses eight input variables to estimate injection rate, ultimate secondary reserves, response time and yields peak oil rate, peak year and the production profile as a function of time. It is used for secondary reserve booking, to develop production profiles for project economics and authorization for expenditures and to assess technical risk by means of the simulation technique.
