Abstract
Assuming a random distribution of solute molecules on substitutional sites of a cubic-close-packed solvent crystal, the probabilities have been calculated of finding single solute molecules and pairs of solute molecules in various degrees of isolation. The probabilities have been derived as a function of solute concentration and for distances corresponding to the separation of first, second, third, and fourth nearest neighbors.
