Abstract

The statistical performance of Space-Time Block Coding (STBC) in the presence of co-channel MIMO interferers is investigated. Three typical MIMO modes, STBC, open-loop spatial multiplexing and closed-loop spatial multiplexing are considered as optional interfering MIMO schemes. The closed-form probability density functions of signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) are obtained under the assumption of interfering base stations with equal or distinct powers. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the SINR distribution is independent of the MIMO modes used in the interfering links.
