Abstract

AbstractThe bivariate distribution function and the ring closure probability for a continuous wormlike chain derived by Gobush et al. and by Yamakawa and Stockmayer are translated into the two‐dimensional case. The results may be written in terms of Fourier series instead of spherical harmonics. Evaluation is carried out to terms of order t−3, where t is the ratio of the total contour length to the persistence length.
