Abstract
The present paper deals with the statistical analysis of the results of beam and column fire tests in order to arrive at suitable values of the adaptation factors κ proposed in Part 1.2. ‘Structural Fire Design’ of Eurocode 3 ‘Design of Steel Structures’. This statistical analysis is consistent with that adopted for other parts of Eurocode 3, although the level of safety is reduced at the fire limit state to take account of the lower probability of occurrence of fire.
