Abstract
An investigation of nonstationary and stationary responses was conducted for a reinforced circular cylindrical shell subjected to a time varying longitudinal load. Linearly varying external excitation frequencies were used when studying the nonstationary responses (passage through resonance). Checkerboard radial modes were employed in this study and the effect of shell imperfections in harmony with the radial modes were studied. Existence of both parametric and combination additive resonances have been established.
