Abstract

A study analysing the historical documents, archival records and recorded interviews with Aboriginal people is presented to better understand the dynamics between them and the first pastoralists. By 1920 the Aborigines of Kimberley region were incorporated into the hierarchical structure of the pastoral industry and changes occurred in the legislation controlling Aboriginal labour on cattle stations.
