Abstract

Lithium is a highly effective medication for mood disorders. However, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) commonly complicates chronic lithium use with dehydration, hypernatremia, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Recent mice studies have shown statins to be helpful in genetic forms of NDI, however statins have not yet been studied in lithium users.
