Abstract

A method to determine the static strength of structural adhesive joints is proposed, which takes into account the ultimate shear strain reduction caused by pullout stress. Specimens with different proportions of pullout and shear stress were tested. The results demonstrated that the analytically determined strength of the symmetrical double lap joint is in good agreement with previously obtained experimental data by other authors.
