Abstract

The increasing strengthening of linkage between electric power system (EPS) and natural gas system (NGS) has brought great challenges to the security and stability of Integrated Electricity and Gas System (IEGS). In this paper, a steady-state multi-energy flow model with an ideal Energy Hub is presented. Then, the concept of static voltage stability in power system is further extended to the static stability of IEGS considering the voltage and gas-pressure restrictions. Based on the concept, a continuous multi-energy flow (CMEF) calculation method is developed to determine the static stability margin of IEGS. Finally, a case study of IEGS coupled by 2 natural gas-fired generators units (NGUs) is employed to analyze the effects of increasing power load in (EPS) to the static stability of IEGS. The results show that static stability margin varies according to the power generation plan of two NGUs.
