Abstract

The nonlinear effects in the conductivity of metals and intrinsic semiconductors placed into homogeneous magnetic field Ho in the. conditions of static skin effect are investigated. The electric current distribution, Hall field, and intrinsic magnetic field of current H j in the sample are obtained by the asymptotic solution of the system of Maxwell equations and kinetic equation in the case of slowly changing of total magnetic field at a distance of the order of electron Larmor radius. The competition between the static skin effect and the pinch effect is analyzed. It is shown that by varying Ho one can study separately the dynamic nonlinear effect associated with the H j influence on the ballistics of conduction electrons, and the deviation from the Ohm's law due to charge carriers heating by electric current.
