Abstract

ABSTRACT Static pressure surveys in gas wells have frequently shown a phenomenon in which pressure gradients decrease with increasing depth. Computer simulations have indicated that the main cause of these gradient reversals is reasonable temperature increases with increasing depth. To explain the pressure gradient reversals exhibited in several field examples, seven temperature distributions were incorporated in the computer model.
