Abstract

Facial paralysis produces loss of static symmetry and dynamic facial motion. Static reconstruction for lower facial symmetry may augment dynamic reanimation and improve patients' facial appearance and function. This article examines static techniques to support the mid and lower face including the nasal valve, mouth, and lips with an emphasis on surgical techniques and approaches.
