Abstract

This paper proposes a static lightpath establishment method with multi-path routing in elastic optical networks. A Routing, Modulation Level, and Spectrum Allocation (RMLSA) problem is one of important issues to design the elastic optical networks. The proposed method formulates the RMLSA problem as a mathematical programming problem that minimizes the usage of frequency spectrum. Furthermore, the proposed method introduces a greedy algorithm to obtain approximate solution of the mathematical programming problem. Through numerical experiments, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
