Abstract

Ziel/Aim Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are component of the tumor microenvironment and express Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP). Ga-68-FAPI-PET/CT is a promising target molecule for diagnostic imaging of various malignancies, among them bronchial carcinomas (BC). Subtypes of BCs, especially lepidic BCs are F-18-FDG-PET-negative and Ga-68-FAPI-PET/CT may add diagnostic value for F-18-FDG- negative pulmonary lesions suspicious for BC. We evaluated the static and dynamic fibroblast activation protein (FAP) inhibitor (FAPI) PET/CT in F-18-FDG-negative pulmonary lesions of 20 patients, who all underwent biopsy or surgery after imaging. Furthermore, FAP expression patterns in lepidic BCs was confirmed by FAP immunohistochemistry.
