Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of state’s legal policy, proposes that it is directly related to the development and implementation of strategic legal ideas. The nature of these ideas is investigated, their characteristic features are revealed: connection with law, fundamental nature, strategic nature, consolidation in official sources. There is a direct relationship between legal policy and the legal life of society, legal practice, their mutual influence and dependence on each other. The question of changes in the legal policy of the state caused by the widespread of information technology, the digitalization of processes in all spheres of public life, including, of course, the legal sphere, is considered. It is emphasized that in recent years legal policy has acquired additional means and channels for its implementation and, therefore, should become clearer and more understandable to its addressees. At the same time rapidly changing living conditions dictate the need to revise the key ideas of the legal development of society, expressed in the concept of legal policy, at least in terms of securing the means of implementing a legal strategy. Herein general theory of law, within the framework of which the theory of legal policy is developed, could be of great help.
