Abstract

General evaluations of the accuracy of methods used for measuring the flow of water in open canals and waterways are at present used on a wide scale in literature. However, in citing an evaluation of a method it is not usually stated that the evaluation is general and tentative. This leads to the erroneous notion that the problem of errors in measuring the flow of water in open canals and waterways has been fully resolved.
