Abstract

We are engaged in applying the Generalized Phase Contrast (GPC) method which enables lossless light transmission and direct conversion of spatially encoded phase patterns to high contrast intensity distributions. This technique can be used in a number of applications requiring parallel light-beam encoding and we will briefly outline the practical implementations that we have been undertaking as a direct spin out of GPC encoding. These include among others wavefront sensing and generation, advanced user-controlled optical micro manipulation, optical phase-only encryption/decryption and integrated micro-optical implementations.
