State of the Art - Cybercrimes and Cyber Security Policies and Countermeasures

Abstract

Abstract: The world has become a global village because of the availability of Internet Connectivity and mobile devices to most of the masses around the world. The benefits of digitalization goes hand in hand with a steep rise in cybercrimes, cyber threats and cyberattacks. Cyber security has become crucial in our day to day life in order to protect our information systems. Cyber security has become a buzz word and has kindled interests among cyber security experts, researchers, academicians, private organizations and the government alike. This paper explores the state of the art in Cyber Security and the challenges caused by cybercrimes, cyber threats and cyberattacks. Various methods to protect individuals, organizations, and governments from cybercrimes has been addressed in this paper. Importantly, ways to detect and report cybercrimes are also dealt with.
