Abstract

In this paper, an event-triggered control strategy is proposed to achieve state of charge (SoC) balancing control for distributed battery energy storage system (BESS) with different capacities’ battery units under an undirected topology. The energy-dispatching tasks of the (BEES) consist of the supply–demand balance and the (SoC) balance. Multi-agent consensus theory is utilized to achieve SoC balance. The introduction of event-triggered mechanism can reduce the consumption of communication. A sufficient condition is derived to achieve the consensus of the BESS’s SoC and power. Simulations are presented to illustrate the validity of the theoretical result.
