Abstract

Abstract Separate provisions relating to state monopolies of a commercial character are included in the part of the EC Treaty dealing with the abolition of quantitative restrictions and measures having equivalent effect, in order to ensure that the effect of Articles 28 to 30 is not circumvented, in particular, by means of exclusive rights to import and export which could prevent the achievement of a single market under equal conditions of competition.
