Abstract

In this paper, a novel current regulation strategy for GTO inverter fed induction motor drives is proposed, which applies a linear multivariable state feedback control using a full-order state observer. The algorithm of current regulation is composed of the state feedback control with integral control and feedforward control for input reference and back-emf. For the purpose of current control which is robust to measurement noise, the stator current and the rotor flux estimated by the observer are used in the controller. The observer is designed from the duality principle between the controller and the observer. By applying the proposed scheme, a high performance current regulation can be obtained. >
