Abstract
In recent decades, apocalyptic categories have spilled out of biblical studies and theology and into the work of philosophers like Jacques Derrida and Slavoj Žižek, and Alain Badiou has made the quasi-apocalyptic concept of Event central to his work. This paper introduces Eugen Rosenstock-Huessy into the conversation, arguing that Rosenstock-Huessy provides a more coherent notion of Eventfulness because of the historical particularity of his thought and because of his commitment to orthodox Christianity.
