Abstract

During my placement on a neurosurgery ward I encountered a 61-year-old woman who had undergone a craniotomy and the clipping of a cerebral artery aneurysm. She had been at church when she suddenly felt as if she had been hit hard on the back of her head. She was rushed to hospital, where a subarachnoid haemorrhage from a cerebral artery aneurysm was discovered. Sixteen days after surgery she had a cerebral artery vasospasm, a common complication.
