Abstract

ABSTRACT This article describes in a firsthand perspective the process of creating a Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI). What was to become a University Osher Lifelong Learning Institute began in 2002 as a project for a small group of undergraduate students and one graduate student. This article describes the year of start-up leading to the first semester of a new lifelong learning program.
