Abstract

The development and realization of cyclo- and dicyclohexylamine technologies at MCHZ Ostrava from the 1970s to the present, in which the production plant is a part of the Wanhua-BorsodChem Group, is described. In the course of more than fifty years of development, the production of cyclohexylamine (CHA) has increased by two orders of magnitude. With the introduction of the scrubbing of NH3 from the circulation gases, hydrogen has been saved. The quality of both amines has increased, their yield being more than 99.0%. The production of CHA by hydrogenation of aniline is accelerated by a special, very active and selective cobalt catalyst with a long service life of approximately 20 years.
