Abstract

Stark effect in the hyperfine components of J = 3 ← 2 rotational transition of IBr molecule has been investigated in the microwave region. As IBr possesses strong quadrupole coupling nuclei, the electric dipole moment of the molecule has been evaluated by diagonalizing the energy Hamiltonian. Stark effect has been measured on six M F components at different field strengths.
