Abstract

The molecular weight of Enterotoxin B was calculated by sedimentation, diffusion, and viscosity data to be 30,650. The amino acid composition was determined with a Spinco amino acid analyzer. A molecular weight of 30,000 ± 1000 was calculated from the amino acid composition, and this molecular weight was used to determine the number of residues of each amino acid in the enterotoxin molecule. The N-terminal amino acid sequence was found to be glutamic acid-serine-aspartic acid-lysine-, and the C-terminal amino acid sequence to be -leucine-tyrosine-lysine-lysine-COOH.
