Abstract
194 staphylinid species were found in the Pripiat River floodplain during 1994–2001, of which 17 species were recorded for the first time in Belarus and 119 species were documented for the first time in the National Park ‘Pripiatsky’. Staphylinids are quite diverse in all main habitats in the Pripiat floodplain. The highest species diversity (79 spp.) was found in floodplain meadows, the lowest one (22 spp.) ndash; on strandlines of floodplain temporary pools.
